I landed in Dublin with a strong south-westerly wind that the pilots seemed to be used to when they literally crashed the plane into the runway. I caught the Belfast bus by the skin of my teeth and Colin, CEO of Pneuma Healthcare, came to pick me up in Belfast to take me to Derry. He saved me a lot of waiting time and buses, which allowed me to arrive at a reasonable time, including the cheking one. This was the first of many details, and the first of many conversations, that these incredible Northern Irish people have had with me. Leona had a welcome gift waiting for me, and always a smile, just like Oisis, they took me with them to Belfast to the Christmas markets, on the train they were priceless Northern Ireland guides, and I was a chatterbox,…. as if we had known each other forever….and so on throughout my stay. They were very attentive to me. And the work was a whole experience, exchanging ideas, searching for a common language between company and University, between Psychologists and Computer Scientists, not always easy. They showed me their work training new therapists, using new technologies such as virtual reality, challenges to explore together with speech and language technologies, conversations in the office, in the car, in the pub… It has been a very promising start. We will continue in January.
